100th Day of School

The kids' school always makes a big deal about the 100th day.  Every year they have a party in their class, dress up, play games, and count everything to 100.  Last year I sewed 100 Legos onto Matthew's shirt--it took me about 4 hours--and I decided we needed something easier this year, especially since I have two celebrating.  Matt's class was putting 100 things on a hat and Afton's was doing 100 things on a shirt.  I told the kids that I bought them 100 safety pins each and they had to figure out something to pin on their shirt.  Afton chose beads--I helped Matthew choose buttons since I already had them.  Afton gave up early and said she would read stories to Halle while I finished her shirt.  So Matt and I pinned and chatted.  He can be a real talker when you get him one-on-one.  When we were just about done he said, "It's fun to talk while we do things like this."  I couldn't agree more.
And here are the fruits of our labor...

(You might notice the big scrape under Afton's eye--apparently she got whacked in gym)

Those are so creative. When I do stuff like that I feel like a good mom.
