So Paul and I are finally taking a trip to Europe--and we chose Italy. Rather, I chose Italy. I have always wanted to go and Paul said that was fine. He put me in charge of all the plans except the flights. We'll spend 3 days in Rome, 2 days in Florence and 2 days in Venice. If either of you two readers out there have recommendations for things we must see, let me know. The trip planning (and subsequent wardrobe planning) is the only thing getting me through our cold, yucky winter and Paul's multiple days away from home. He sent me a text-message this morning to cheer me up--only 11 days until Italy!

I have no recommendations as I have never been anywhere cool. I am currently planning our own European vacation, but it's not for another year. Have a GREAT time!
How exciting - I wish I could show you our 1000 pictures of our trip to Italy - I loved Rome and no matter what the weather you MUST have gelati - there's nothing like it!!! We had some of the best near Trevi fountain, which is magnificent. Just see all you can see while you're there and drink it in!!! Love, Grandma J
See everything.......don't waste time sleeping......you can sleep when you get home...........
Never pass up the food. Real Italian food is delicious...and you can diet when you get home. Or, just walk alot....you'll see a lot more that way and you can eat gelato guilt-free...
Have fun! I'm looking forward to a trip report when you get back (including pictures). With the weather you've had, I'm sure you're ready to get away. Hope you're doing well!
I am just sick that we aren't going with you. It seems so wrong. Just try to enjoy yourselves anyway :)

I have no recommendations - it's you and Paul (no kids) in Italy - it's already a success.
I don't have any recommendations, except maybe read Eat, Pray, Love before you go and try to find that pizza place in Naples...
It sounds like it will be a wonderful trip!
