Gotta Have Faith!

My good friend Christine and I went to the Faith Hill/Tim McGraw concert this weekend. I have to preface my excitement about this by explaining that the two of us are huge Faith Hill fans! We were thrilled to go see the concert together. It was especially fun going together since we have similar emotions about Faith! She left her husband and kids at home, and I left the kids with a sitter (Paul was on the New River with the Young Men's trip) and we enjoyed 4 hours with Tim and Faith! It was an awesome concert! We highly recommend it, even if you aren't country music fans!

Happy News!

Paul's Aunt Allison shared a wonderful birthday gift with all of us. Today is her birthday and she revealed the news that she is expecting baby number 2 in February! We are all excited for them--such a cute family and this baby is very lucky to come to their home!

Surf's Up!

I didn't know if we really needed to see this movie since we've been inundated with penguins lately, and I wasn't all that impressed with Happy Feet. But, the kids and I went on Saturday and I'm here to say this is a really cute, fun movie with a good lesson in it! It's a mockumentary-type film with the narration by the characters, so it has a different feel to it. We also love that it has a surfing chicken who learned to surf on Lake Michigan. (the voice is by Jon Heder aka Napoleon Dynamite) There are lots of funny parts which had Matt almost falling off his seat! If you haven't seen this yet, it's still in theatres, but has been pushed out a little by Ratatouille--which, by the way, we also think is good!

Matt's Eating Contest!

The reward for all this...a box of nerds!

Independence Day

We hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July yesterday! We enjoyed a ward BBQ where Matt participated in a whipped cream/find the M&M contest! Later in the evening, we met with friends for dessert and a walk to the fireworks show on the lake. It was spectacular and the kids all enjoyed it! Even little Halle loved watching the light show--I covered her ears because it was getting so loud--she fell asleep just before the grand finale and woke up with the last big bang!

Fundraising

Hey family and friends!
My sister and I are running the Nike Women's half-marathon in October. The race is a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and I thought I would try to do my part by asking friends and family to donate any amount they would like to the cause. Click here to donate . My mom decorates and donates a Christmas tree every year for the Festival of Trees which benefits Primary Children's Hospital. She calls it insurance against her kids needing to use the hospital. I'm hoping I can do this and never have to use it for my kids! Any little bit is appreciated--My goal is to raise $500, so thanks for helping out! (If you prefer to write a check, make it to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society & I'll mail it into them)
