"Snora"

She is a sleepy little girl!

I often find that I've put her in her play-gym to entertain herself 

and she has fallen asleep within minutes!

She's earned herself the nickname "Snora" for her great sleeping habits!

Cub Scout Day Camp

Matthew had an awesome time last week!

He was up early every day--excited and ready to go to Scout Camp!

They did all sorts of fun activities--fishing, archery, crafts, BB guns, sling shots, archeology digs, spear-throwing, rock-wall climbing, obstacle course, games and visiting a water park!

I got to go one day and it is so fun to watch Matt with the other cub scouts!

We have so many great dads in our life--

Thank you Steve, Pat, Van, Grandpa Bunting and Grandpa Johannesen!

It is wonderful to have so much love and support for our family.

But since this is my blog, I wanted to focus one one dad in particular--

-This is my dad with me and the kids-

My dad has always been very supportive of me and encourages me

to be good to myself and makes sure that I'm taken care of!

When Paul and I were first married, we were very poor-

that Christmas my dad slipped me some money to spend on myself, just for fun.

When I decided to go back to school and get my masters degree, my dad said go for it!

When we go to Utah, my dad babysits and plays with the kids so I can have a break.

Dad--thanks for being a great dad to me and a great grandpa to my kids!

A little sampling of Halle...

Halle

what can we say about this little red-head?

our friends call her "impish"

she is definitely mischievous

life is never dull when she's around...

she loves to have her picture taken

(we call this her "Dwight Shrute" hair)

she wears a "sweet-belt" in the car

and she gets "pick-ups in her mouth" when she swallows too fast

she is a budding and determined artist...

with markers and crayons on the furniture and walls.

when said markers are hidden, she uses make-up

when make-up is hidden, she uses toothpaste

(she decorated 10 pairs of my shoes and Sampson with Crest)

I now hide the tooth-paste and I'm afraid of what she will find next!

she always makes us laugh...

("Hey Dad--why do you have a tail?") 

{as he is getting out of the shower} 

-just one more reason the kids need their own bathroom-

This one keeps us on our toes, but she's also stolen our hearts!

Happy Birthday Spence!  We hope your day is fantastic--

we're so excited to see you in a couple of weeks!  

(after much guilt-tripping by me, Spencer and Brittany are making the trek to Chicago! YEAH!)

All Tuckered Out...

It's only the first week out of school

but we've been extra busy!

You know they're tired when they put 

themselves down for a nap!

The End of 2nd Grade!

This year Matt's class ended on the Rainforest Unit--

we got to go to their presentation of songs, poems and readers' theater

all about the rainforests.

Matt is a Toucan in a play about the importance of trees in the forest.

(don't you love all the decorations--I wish my classrooms had been this fun!)

Matthew was in a Multi Age Class of 1st and 2nd graders.

Each 2nd grader passes the torch of leadership to a 1st grader

who will mentor the incoming 1st graders

Halle loves going to the kids' classes--

especially when there are refreshments!

Soccer Season is Over!

Matt's season ended before Afton's--

(unfortunately, I don't have pictures of Matt's soccer game--I was on my own with 4 kids)

Afton's team had a family game to celebrate the team's season-

We finally had some nice weather for the event, so Matt & Paul played too!

Afton's Dance Recital

Afton had her final dance recital last weekend.

She participates in both ballet and tap--

She did a great job and I am so proud of how far she's come!

When Afton first started dance, she wouldn't participate if people were watching--now she loves to do it!

She confidently walked on stage with a big smile on her face!

We love watching her do something she loves!

Cub Scouts

Matthew is in Cub Scouts now--

He loves going to den meetings every week

and even earned his Bobcat for pack meeting last week!

Now he's looking forward to day camp in three weeks--

it's going to be a great summer!
