Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Birthday Troy!

Yeah--I love Thanksgiving.  This year is my first year cooking the whole meal at home--
we usually go to friends' houses, but we have guests ourselves--
Ryan & Ruth Ann brought their kids and we get to have family for the holiday!
Today we are also excited to celebrate Troy's birthday!
Happy Birthday buddy--it's been fun watching you grow up
and see all the great things you're doing!
We hope you have a great day--although, knowing you and eating,
we have no doubt that it will be!

Happy Birthday Brittany!

Happy Birthday to our sister-in-law Brittany today! We love you and hope you have a great day--you will get a phone call later with a special rendition of "Happy Birthday" from your nieces and nephew.

It's a...

GIRL!
We're all excited and even Matt seems okay with it!
I told Paul to start saving up for three weddings!
I am thrilled about more pink and love the idea of having three girls together!
The boys are just going to have to stick together.

Funny that this should appear in my e-mail box last night...

Maybe I should sign up and ultrasound all my family and friends. It'll be too late for me by the time I'm "certified"

One More Day...

So I arrived right on time to my appointment today to have an ultrasound and a check up. However, the receptionist did not have my name down anywhere--not today, not yesterday, not tomorrow. Somehow, when she gave me my appointment last month, she forgot to enter it into the computer and since the ultrasound technician had already left, I have to go back tomorrow. Luckily, she felt bad and made room for me tomorrow instead of making me wait until next week. I cried on the way out which is kind of lame, I know, but I was so anxious to KNOW today whether we were having a boy or girl. The excitement doesn't diminish just because this is number four--so we're disappointed today, but hopefully all will go well tomorrow!

Boy or Girl?

So I've passed the halfway mark and we get to go in next Wednesday for our official ultrasound. (The doctor's office just got a new plasma screen up on the wall which makes it so nice and easy to watch the whole ultrasound! I'm very excited!) People have started to ask if we're going to find out what we're having. We always do--we have children to prepare and really, we're not good at waiting. We like to plan ahead! Matthew wants a brother and may need these last few months to adjust if he's getting another sister. Afton and Halle both want a baby girl. Paul thinks it's a girl and I just don't know. Take a guess yourself and we'll let you know next week!

He got Afton's vote!

Afton came home from kindergarten excitedly telling me about the election. The kids in her class got to vote for President as they learned about our election today. She brought home a bar chart that showed 14 votes for John McCain and 9 votes for Barack Obama. I asked her who she had voted for and she proudly stated Barack Obama.

I was a little surprised, since we're a Republican-leaning household and asked her why she voted for him. Her answer ..."He looks like Tiger Woods!" It's hard to argue with kindergartner logic!
