Thanksgiving Recap

We headed down to Atlanta to spend time with Paul's aunts, who are actually closer in age to us than a traditional aunt--which means they also have lots of cousins for our kids to play with! They have so many great activities planned including a hayride behind a riding lawnmower and a turkey "shoot" which the kids loved. To see better pictures, head over to Kristen's blog. Paul was in charge of the camera while I took care of Halle inside. We have to rely on the aunties for the great photos of this event! Many thanks to the "Hiltpuzersons" for the wonderful Thanksgiving!

Jane for the Day...

Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously...Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us. --Pride and Prejudice

Happy Thanksgiving

We have much to be grateful for; I love celebrating Thanksgiving. It is a time of family, friends, and blessings. This year I am thankful for: 3 happy, beautiful children--a kind, hard-working husband--loving extended family--Chicago friends who have become like family--a warm home--the opportunity to serve others--feeling the Lord's love in many ways--good books--health--leisure time--visiting friends and family throughout the year. This list is far from complete, but these are the ones that I feel every day. May you all have a wonderful holiday weekend in remembering your own blessings!

I've Returned

Paul had meetings out in California, so I tagged along. Kelsey came out to watch the kiddies, so I had a few days to just hang out, shop, eat, read by the beach. It was wonderful & peaceful. Paul & I also took a day to visit Disneyland--yeah! I love that place. I also did not take a purse with me for the first time in a while--hence, the only pictures are of me with Paul's camera phone. Now it's back to reality--laundry, kids, dishes, cooking, schedules. Nice to be home, though.

I've Been Tagged...

Okay, this tag is a bit harder than the last one. I am supposed to come up with 6 little known facts/habits about myself. I then tag 6 more people to do the same. Here goes:
1-I took drum lessons for about a month. Not because I really wanted to, but Heather was better on the keyboards and our music teacher needed a drummer--there I was.
2-Although you wouldn't know it now, I used to sing pretty well. I had the lead in our 5th grade musical "Tom Sawyer" and sang two solos. I still remember them too if you want a concert later.
3-I will never, ever sky-dive or bungee-jump. I'm terrified of heights.
4-I've kept a journal since 7th grade. It is very interesting to re-read my life. I also use it to prove to Paul what really happened in our life together. I win a lot of arguments this way, "Don't make me pull out my journal!" There are also little tidbits about some of you in there!
5-I have twin disorder. I don't like to be alone and everything is a competition to me.
6-During the birth of my daughter Halle, I could feel the doctors doing their "tests" before they performed the c-section, so I had to be completely knocked out. I actually think I prefer it this way. No weird sensations, just beautiful sleep with strange, colorful dreams. I truly was "trippin'!"

I am now tagging Heather, Joslyn, Danielle, Kelsey & Spencer/Brittany

Jane for the Day...

If any one faculty of our nature may be called more wonderful than the rest, I do think it is memory. There seems something more speakingly incomprehensible in the powers, the failures, the inequalities of memory, than in any other of our intelligences. The memory is sometimes so retentive, so serviceable, so obedient; at others, so bewildered and so weak; and at others again, so tyrannic, so beyond control! We are, to be sure, a miracle every way; but our powers of recollecting and of forgetting do sem peculiarly past finding out. --Mansfield Park
