Johannesen Pit Stop

Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Johannesen stopped over on their way back to Washington after two months of driving around the country to visit family. The kids were so excited to see them. Around 9 in the morning, Afton announced she would wait on the front porch for them. We explained that they wouldn't be here until after lunch. She then said, "Can I have lunch now?" We feel the same way when family comes to visit!

Happy 35th Anniversary!

My mom and dad are celebrating their 35th anniversary today! That's an amazing accomplishment these days and they are great examples of being able to work through the tough times and enjoying all the good ones too! We hope you both have many more happy years together! Thanks for all you do to support our family--we love you!

Ballet Recital

Afton had a dress rehearsal for their recital. We hadn't signed her up for the recital because she refused to dance in front of the parents. However, today at their practice, she did a beautiful job! She was a little nervous coming into the room, but after they did their number, she told me it was a lot of fun! We are very proud of her for being so brave!

Soccer Weekend

Matt did an awesome job in his soccer game! He scored a goal and is great at stealing the ball from the other team. We also enjoyed very nice weather which makes going to a soccer game that much more enjoyable!

Happy 30th Birthday Sarah!

Happy Birthday to Aunt Sarah who turns 30 today! We hope this next year is the best ever! By the way, this is Sarah with her aunt Allison--that's right, she's our aunt!

Paul has had to travel a bit the past couple weeks. He's pretty good at making it up to me. Yesterday, a nice surprise arrived. It's just what I needed to get through until he gets back.

7 Months

Boy the time has gone quickly! Halle sits up, plays with her toys, loves to cuddle and laugh, and really enjoys playing with family and friends. She is always smiling and is so easy to love. What a sweet addition to our family!

Grandpa Walker and Granny Kate "dropped in" for my birthday--what a fun surprise! Afton and Halle were especially cuddly with their grandpa. We love that about our girls--they love to snuggle up and be loved!

Afton's Birthday report

After a fun day in Chicago at American Girl Place, the party continued at home with balloons, presents and a Strawberry Shortcake cake! It was so much fun to have Aunt Kelsey and Rylee to celebrate with us!

American Girl Place

This is such a fun place for little girls! For Afton's birthday, she got to pick out a doll, a couple outfits and then have lunch at the American Girl Cafe. It was really fun and she enjoyed the entire experience. She conked out in the car on the way home! Birthdays can be so tiring!
