Happy Birthday to Andrew who is now 3 decades old! We love you and hope you have a fantastic year! We're glad you're part of the family and now part of the 30 and up club!
I won the 1st place golden fork medal last night at our ward's cake decorating contest. I have to say that I stole the idea from Martha Stewart but had to execute it myself after the pages were taken down from her website! It turned out pretty well for a rookie decorator!
Matt got a ton of Legos for Christmas, which he loves to play with. Every day he spends hours making trucks, airplanes, cars, space ships and anything else he can imagine! The only downside is that we now have little Lego pieces scattered around the house as Matt dismantles and rearranges his creations.
We mean this in a good way! Afton has become our little music/dance/theatre buff. She loves to watch her movies and then enact them, especially focusing on the singing and dancing parts. In case you were wondering, she also selects her own wardrobe! Every day, she puts on a show and allows me to "catch her in the act."
At five months old, Halle is now sleeping through the night and that makes for a very happy girl (and mom)! She loves to play and interact and she has the sweetest little face!
Afton and Matt were doing some "crafts" when Afton decided she wanted to give herself a haircut. Luckily, the falling hair must have scared her because she only got a couple snips off before she came and hid by me. I asked her why she did it and she said she wanted it like mine (I recently got a hair cut too--only mine was done by a professional!) If you look closely, you'll see the snips out of her hair. She looks pretty proud of herself, doesn't she? We have convinced her that her long hair is just like Sleeping Beauty's and she shouldn't cut it herself! I have also hidden the scissors!
Our family is a circle of love and strength. With every birth and every union, the circle grows. Every joy shared adds more love. Every obstacle faced together makes the circle stronger.
