Our Fashionista

Afton chose this outfit today. I did a double-take, thinking it was a little wacky. Then I looked closer and realized, it's a little stylish. Her other dresses are in the wash, so she improvised and to pull her look together, she put on a sparkly belt. I have not tried the belt trend, but it actually looks cute on my daughter. The only problem is that this outfit cannot leave the house. She told me she would put pants on when we leave! (the go-gurt is not an accessory, just a snack!)

Grandma and Grandpa Visit!

We had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa Bunting. We went downtown to Navy Pier, did the Architecture boat tour, visited the Brookfield Zoo, and wandered around the Chicago Botanic Gardens. Paul and Grandpa also went to a Bears pre-season game. We all had fun and enjoyed our time together!

Congratulations to Paul!

Paul, not only being an awesome dad and husband, also excels at work:
He was just named General Manager of the Central region beginning September 1. This is a great opportunity for him and a great career move. He is excited to begin his new role and the challenges it will bring in his professional life. We as a family will miss him (he's going to be a lot busier and spend a lot more time downtown and traveling). As his boss said, "Say good-bye to your wife." That's when I really started to worry!

Afton's New 'Do

Kelsey asked Afton if she wanted her hair cut. Afton enthusiastically replied that she did, so we asked permission from Paul, who loves her hair long. We all love her new hair--she had many comments on it at church yesterday. So many, in fact, that we think she has grown a bit vain about it. When Zach (who is 13) told her he liked it, she blushed and looked away--don't tell me she's into boys already? She's only 4! Last night she was washing it, again. We may have created a hair monster!

We're Back

It's been a long, busy three weeks since we first left for Utah! We're all adjusting back to our "normal" lives as Afton puts it. (After a brief round of the flu made it through the family--yuck!) I am also, sadly, adjusting to not having friends and family around all the time!
