Matt's First Day of Kindergarten

Well, today was the big day! Yesterday, we took a test bus ride with the other kindergartners so Matt would have some experience getting on and off the bus. Today, he hopped right on the bus and waved goodbye! Matt had so much fun riding on the big bus and really loved his class! (Mom survived the day as well) We went to McDonald's for lunch to celebrate!

Da Bears

Paul and I got to go to a Bears preseason game on Friday. Although they didn't win, it was such a fun experience (my first NFL game)! We also have two great players from our ward here who play for the team--hence the good tickets! Gabe Reid (#82) is a tight end and John Tait (#76) is left tackle. We were excited when Mike Ditka said that Gabe is the best tight end on the team! Go Bears!

Afton's First Haircut

We finally convinced Paul that it was all for the best to cut off Afton's curls. They were getting too long and snaggly. Afton did a great job and sat very still for her cut. She is very proud of her soft hair without snaggles!

Kohl's Children's Museum

Matt & Afton love going to the fun museums here in Chicago. The children's museum is closer to our house and the kids had so much fun doing "grown-up" things. Their favorite area was the pretend Potbelly's sandwich shop. For those of you unfamiliar with Potbelly's, they have the best sandwiches out here!

Start the Countdown!

Today we received a phone call from the obstetrician's office. Our baby girl's arrival date is scheduled for October 12, 2006. Unless I go into labor early, we are planning on that day to welcome her to our family. We've now started the official countdown--9 weeks to go!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Chad! My brother turns 27 today and we had a great time singing over the phone. Matt's rendition of the song is slightly unpredictable. Today he sang that Chad looks like a banana?! It's the thought that counts, right?

Up and Running

Well, I'm jumping on the blog bandwagon and hoping I figure this out as I go. My sister keeps our website updated, but I figured I could post new and exciting news here every week!
